On Love and Hate
--
Young friend, you know not of hate
You know not of malice
Of anger and violence
Or anything of the truths of the world

No, you know of love
Of passion, of hope
Fallible things, concocted from the mind
And impossibilities never to come to time
-
I SAY PASSION LIVES!
It beats my heart and fills my lungs
Gives me meaning, duty and purpose
Filling my very being with that which gives us life!

How dare you speak to me like a youth!
Of things you can’t possibly have felt.
You, ignorant sir, know nothing of the heart
Of the soul, or of the mind

For the mind is built on hope
The soul on love,
And the heart on the deepest of passion.
